If you are overweight, you're more likely to develop these health problems:
Being overweight can also cause medical problems, such as sleep apnea (interrupted breathing during sleep) and osteoarthritis (wearing away of the joints). The good news is that losing that weight not only has the obvious benefits we all know -- better appearance, longer life expectancy and vastly improved self-esteem -- it can also alleviate the harmful medical effects you have suffered from being overweight. In fact, studies show that you can improve your health by losing as little as 10 or 20 pounds. I can help you get there, but you have to understand that the real problem is deep within your mind. THE VICIOUS CYCLE There is no issue more challenging and complex than Weight Management. Why? Because most overweight people don't overeat for nourishment. They do it for hidden reasons. This may be why food is just a temporary fix for what is really bothering you. When you're stressed, it soothes and nourishes but only for a little while. When you see (or even think of) those brownies or chocolate chip cookies, you go primitive and want instant gratification. Then, afterwards, you feel guilty and lose your self-respect. Before you know it, you're in a vicious cycle of eating out-of-control again because you're already down in the dumps. Food has become your cure du jour. THE ANSWER Here's how to end this powerless destructive cycle. The first step towards your empowerment is understanding how the mind works and why your diets and Willpower have failed. The knowledge that follows is going to help you feel better about yourself! HOW THE MIND WORKS Even though we seem to have only one mind, we actually have two: an Outer Mind (Conscious) and an Inner Mind (Subconscious). And they function differently. Think of them combined as a biocomputer. Your Conscious mind has been wired to reason things out, to search for solutions and to Try to make things happen using Willpower. You're probably most familiar with using this part of your mind. Let's now use weight control as an example. You analyze your problem about being too heavy. You search to find a solution, reasoning to yourself "Maybe I'll go on a diet again but I've done that before I'll just gain back the weight." Or "Maybe I'll join a gym." So you work out a few times and desperately Try to eat less using Willpower. Notice how much effort you use without any positive results. Why? Because your habitual patterns of behavior have been programmed into that other part of your mind - your Subconscious - and habits can only change on the Subconscious level. This is the part of your mind that gets so deeply engrained with habit that you go on automatic - like when you're driving your car, washing the dishes or eating without thinking. WEIGHT CONTROL IS A HABIT AND HABITS CAN CHANGE
OVERCOME THE URGE TO OVEREAT Now you can see that you're not overeating because your body needs more food. No, it's your Subconscious Mind controlling you because it thinks it needs comfort. And that comfort is spelled F-O-O-D. Your reason may be deep and hidden, or it may simply be a matter of changing habits.
In this process, it's most important to practice self hypnosis one or two times a day until you master my simple yet powerful techniques. There's a bonus to this process: you'll develop the ability to open up all of your senses so that you can clearly see and experience yourself as you want to be. This principle is powerful: AS YOU SEE YOURSELF SO YOU BECOME Or - to put it another way - you can say "I want to lose weight" over and over again, but if you want to achieve results, your mental pictures must match your words.
